Here are all the Tucker photos I presently have scanned. Most of these have never been posted on the internet before and are of unusual views of the car. http://picasaweb.google.com/tuckerfan

Thanks for the great photos! The Tucker car shown in all its phases-- from an "ugly duckling" to a glorious new life as a head-turner at car shows!

You're right, of course. I thought that the hosting site would allow me to just point to the directory on my harddrive where I've got the photos and upload those and the subdirectory as well, instead of having to upload each subdirectory one at a time, or I would have labelled them differently. I haven't played around the with site enough to figure out how to relabel things to make it clearer as to what's what.

Yeah, that's me bent down in front of 1003. No idea of where 55 is, someone emailed me the pic, but didn't provide any details.

Rare Tucker Photos

Understand the situation in loading subdirectory photos. Really appreciate your sharing those with all.
Stan Gilliland found body 55 sitting in a field in Illinois and took it to his place in Wellington, KS. later a tree fell on it and later Stan sold it to Bill Bicknell. The latest I have on it is that Mark Lieberman had it but since he sold his Tucker 1006 I doubt that he still has it. No idea where it is today.

Wow.. thanks for the replies... been kinda quiet here for a while... nice to see something new to get this place talking again...
Makes you wonder what is left out there if anything to finish up a car.. I noticed the images of the convertible there... What body number is that one?
what does it need to finish... what would it need to be a complete
Tucker besides the back doors and top.... I read they modified the
front doors.... but could take them back to original...
I would think the hardest piece would be the top... make it
from a old Fleetline Buick or Olds?...
What extra parts are know that are out there?

The convertible is 1057 I heard from stan that body 55 is in Ohio as for parts there are original and they always show up on ebay mostly radios and bumper parts every once in a while body parts and tail light lenses. I would be careful on buying the lenses though because Chick makes repro lenses and all the lenses on ebay people have claimed that they are not repros. I got mine from Chick for $40.00 he does a good job at making them, he is also making hood ornaments out of aluminum so I believe that a hood ornament will be up on ebay before too long by someone trying to pass it off as an original. So what im trying to say is that if you want to start a collection and dont care if its original or repro I would give Chick a call he can make lots of things at a much cheaper price than a original or buying it off ebay as an original but it actually being a repro so buyers beware. Also ebay is not the only online auction site so check the other auctions too such as www.craigslist.com I believe yahoo has online auctions as with msn, google, aol, lycos etc. good luck. I hope I have answerd atleast some questions.

I am going to guess that the body that is shown hacked up with the frame near it, and the cord body (or graham) is what remains of 55.

Did he mention if he knew what the owner's intentions are with the remains?

There are 2 pics of 1055 the colored one covered by over growth the other is in Stans shop in Kansas there are pics of the paper thin rusted out Tucker, that pic was taken in the 70's, then there is the 2 test motors a Jacobs aircooled then the franklin aircooled motor and 2 pics of 1052. At the time when the pic in the 70's was taken 51 hadnt been bought by Chick yet so im guessing as far as everyone knew 51 was in the same shape as 55 and the others. As I recall Chick went to Kansas to look at buying 55, but thought the project was a little more than he wanted to take on at the price Stan had set. Seeing how much 1027 sold for in the shape its in I have to wonder how much Stan wanted for 55. I would buy 55 in a heart beat for the price 27 sold for and would be even more apt to buying it if it came with all the stuff 27 came with. Who owns 55 anyway I know its in Ohio but thats all I know.

OK... I want to get this clear for myself, the picture of 55 sitting in Stanley's garage, that was taken before the tree fell on it and it's not near that complete anymore....
I have since heard that the convertible is made of parts both NOS and maybe parts from 18.... Also have heard of other folks out there that
have parts or almost enough parts to complete a car.
Also the owner of 51 has a fiberglass car made from the molds from the movie and is almost complete...
Does anyone here know of cars or folks that have collected parts to complete a car.
If it is said that there where 59 (some say 60) cars left in differnet
stages on the line the day of the auction.... where are they now.

#51 completed
#52 -?
#53 - ?
#54 - ?
#55 - remains crushed by a tree/rusted away
#56 - ?
#57 - converitble-along with some #18 parts?
#58 - ?
#59 - ?
#60 - ?

that's a lot of cars to account for.... Anyone have any info on these?
and engines, parts.... would be great to get a inventory list of what
is still out there and post. That would end a lot of these questions that
are asked over and over....

Parts galore they can be found at swap meets, peoples garages, reproduction parts are out there, some parts from chain auto parts stores etc., im guessing if all the parts were rounded up there probably is enough to make atleast 10 more cars, just from what ive seen on ebay in the last 5yrs there has probably been enough to do one car and start another. I may be wrong on this. Radios come up on ebay almost every 2 weeks every once in a while a heater and seat covers. The last seat covers I saw was atleast 3yrs ago and they were blue those are the only ones ive ever seen.
